Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Hybrid) County Cork €90-100k
Our client is based in Cork and is looking to hire a Senior SRE to join their growing team. This Global software company is a technology leader in their sector and their innovations sets them apart from their competitors.
This role will give an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to lead a small SRE team and work closely with other teams in shaping the future of the system and service.
Day to Day Responsibilities
• Incident management and conducting post incident reviews
• Design and implementation of software to assist in operations and support
• Working closely with developers to ensure designed solutions meet non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, security and maintainability
• Improving the internal, external process systems and moving from ad-hoc to infrastructure and configuration as code though out the organization
• Implementing monitoring and alerting throughout in house and cloud-based systems
• Improving the reliability of systems though out the organization and working with product teams to help improve their products
• Define and manage release budgets
• Managing the inhouse development and CI/CD systems
• Responsible for design, implementation, maintainability for robust, scalable, high-quality software and systems within the SRE domain
• Take responsibility for complex project tasks and contributes to technical decisions to ensure successful delivery.
• Active member of the best practice SRE function striving for and achieving higher standards of individual and team performance
Who you are
• 5+ Years development/operations experience
• 2+ years in a DevOps engineering or SRE role
• 2+ years’ experience with cloud
• Experience in VMWare
• Configuration Management Technologies, such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef or Salt etc
• Infrastructure as Code Technologies, such as Terraform and CloudFormation
• Experience with multiple operating systems. including, Ubuntu, MacOS & Windows
• Scripting languages such as Bash or Python
• CI/CD and Build pipelines both in Jenkins and Gitlab
Nice to have
• Databases such as MySQL / Postgres
• Defining SLO’s and SLA’s, defining/monitoring release budget
• Understanding of the current best principles around Security Management
• Experience in an agile development team using SCRUM
• Monitoring and Alerting with Prometheus & CloudWatch
• Logging with CloudWatch, ELK / EFK
