BI Developer | Nationwide UK (Hybrid) £40-45k + incentives + bonus

Our client is looking for a talented BI developer to join their team helping to put data in the hands of those who need it to make decisions and improve efficiency.

They are currently in the process of an ambitious transition to move a large portfolio of legacy reports on to Power BI.

This role will provide a good opportunity for someone wishing to develop their data visualisation and technical skills while understanding the operational challenges that the business faces. The client is looking for practical experience and passion, an individual who wants to keep learning and wants to be at the forefront of their profession.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create innovative BI solutions to complex problems and find ways to creatively explain solutions to data users.
  • Monitoring performance of BI solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with data security standards.
  • Provide transparency on the reports and data lineage of datasets available for business users.

Key Requirements

  • Experience working in a BI team.
  • Experience using relevant BI tools to deliver data to users:
  • Excellent working knowledge of SQL SSMS, SSIS, SSRS.
  • A good understanding of Microsoft VBA.
  • Beneficial to have some exposure to any of: Jet Reports, Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics, Business Objects or Castleton Maintain, otherwise training can be provided.
  • Experience developing BI reports and the appropriate data models associated.
  • Experience of Agile culture and squad mentality.
  • Able to design, write and iterate BI from test to production ready. Understands specific technologies that underpin the work you undertake.
  • Monitoring for the symptoms of emerging problems and introducing automation wherever possible.
  • Working knowledge of user experience design, data visualisation techniques and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and interactions between MS Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and Power BI.
  • Degree (BSc) in Mathematics, Science, Computing or similar advantageous.
  • Qualifications in Visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects).
